Important disclaimer

This calculator provides estimates only. It does not constitute financial, tax, legal or insurance advice. Actual costs, pricing power and profitability depend on your local market, experience, overheads, award rates, superannuation, workers compensation, registration, fuel prices and many other factors.

GST calculations assume a 10% rate and your stated GST registration status. If you are unsure whether you need to register for GST, speak with a registered tax practitioner or visit the Australian Taxation Office website.

PetBiz does not sell insurance or provide insurance advice. If you choose to request a quote, the information you share goes to that insurance partner, and any quote is subject to their own terms and approval.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the calculator add GST to the recommended price?

When you select GST registered, the displayed recommended price includes 10% GST so you can quote customers the amount they actually pay. Your annual revenue is also shown both ex-GST and inc-GST.

What costs should I include in my labour rate?

Include the hourly amount you need to earn before tax, superannuation and workers compensation. The calculator treats this as a direct cost; add a margin on top to cover overheads, profit and tax planning.

Is this a quote or final advice?

No. This is an educational estimate. Always verify pricing, tax and pet business insurance decisions with qualified Australian professionals.
